Focus and Scope

"Journal of the Faculty of Forestry Istanbul University – (JFFIU)" regularly published since 1951 by Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry. This journal is peer-reviewed since 1998 and international peer-reviewed since 2010. Our journal provides knowledge of forestry science and related disciplines in the field of the developments and research in the international field of researchers, educators and practitioners. JFFIU is the most established forestry journals in Turkey and has 65 years of history.

"Journal of the Faculty of Forestry Istanbul University – (JFFIU)" is the official journal Faculty of Forestry, Istanbul University and it provides both a national and international research forum for exchange of knowledge dealing with various issues of forestry, wood science and technology and landscape architecture.

"Journal of the Faculty of Forestry Istanbul University – (JFFIU)" publishes two issues (in January and July) annualy.

Review process of submitted article’s will be completed with in 60 days and intended to as soon as possible to be published in the electronic edition of the journal web site.

The objectives of the "Journal of the Faculty of Forestry Istanbul University – (JFFIU)" are both to publish original papers, short notes and review papers of a high scientific standart and to establish a discussion environment for current issues in forest-forest products and landscape architecture-related areas among researchers, legislators, decision-makers, industry, universities, research institutes and other professionals.

"Journal of the Faculty of Forestry Istanbul University – (JFFIU)" accepts papers of high scientific quality and both high local and globalrelevance in the field of forest research forum basic to applied areas including;

In the last calendar year (2014), a total of 12 articles were published in the journal (12 original research articles, 0 technical note and 0 reviews).

No 'article processing charge' is demanded from authors on manuscript submission or during the publishing process. The journal provides article download statistics for published articles in their relevant metadata pages.

Peer Review Process

Provided that the manuscript complies with the manuscript preparation guidelines, it goes through a reviewing process: manuscript seen first by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board members, screened for plagiarism by using an online software if required, then sent to at least two blinded-peer-reviewers. Reviewers may either accept the article as it is, request minor or major revisions, or reject. In case there is disagreement between reviewers, the manuscript may be sent to an extra reviewer. The article can be published only after the required revisions are fulfilled by the author. However, taking into consideration the recommendations of the reviewers, final decision belongs to the Editor-in-Chief. Note that a double-blind peer review system is adopted; reviewer is unaware of the identity of the author, and the author is also unaware of the identity of reviewer.

 

Open Access Policy

Journal of the Faculty of Forestry Istanbul University / İstanbul Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesi Dergisi is Open Access according to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition. By this we mean that the journal's articles have "free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself."

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
