AN ANAYSIS OF POPULATION DISTRIBUTION BY INEQUALITY INDEXES IN TURKEY

Abstract


That population which depends on fertility and migrations does not increase everywehere at the same level is a known reality. This situation which is about different use of space by human, play a determinative role in distribution of population, as well as that every part of earth is inconvenient for human life at the same form. Despite the population which is growing, because of urbanization, population distribute to the area more inequality, more and more. When the distribution of population to the area is analysed by various inequality indexes in respect of census periods between 1935-2008 in the base of provinces and regions, that population distribute inequality has been seen, more and more. That this stiuation which is seen more clearly accelerate, particularly after 1960 is quite significant in population distribution by provinces. Redistribution of population which is about urbanization and migraiton process, has not been finished, yet as well as demographic transition. In conclusion, rural area where a few population live, appear in spite of overpopulated urban area.
