ANALYSIS OF VULNERABILITY OF ULUOVA AQUIFER BY MEANS OF GLOBAL IDENTITY SYSTEM (GIS)
Part of 21 millions m3 annual drinking water requirements of Elazy? City and irrigation water requirements of 5000 ha agricultural land are supplied from Uluova aquifer. Annual drinking water requirements of Elazy? City are 40 millions m3 at 2040 year. An alternative project of supply this water requirement from Uluova Aquifer considered by 9th Regional Directorate of State Hydraulics Works. Pollution risks of Uluova aquifer is present because of waste water collectors and treatment units, oil pipelines, agricultural pesticides and like action of animal husbandry. In this study, Global Identity System is used. Nitrate analyses which demonstrate vulnerability, were tested 14 different locations. Ultimately, respect to results of physical-chemical analyses maps of underground water quality and vulnerability maps respect to hydrogelogical parameters are prepared.
