Increasing the international mobility of people is an important aspect of globalization, and the relationship between globalization and migration emerges as an important area of inquiry. This study aims to examine trends in international migration throughout the three waves of globalization, namely the waves
of free trade, the free movement of people and capital, and the economic integration of national economies by means of the literature and statistical data. The results of the study show that, flows of migration in the first stages of globalization and current flows of migration differ from one another in terms of the
direction, structure and policies of migration.
